that’s Neil Armstrong, I thought this guy was in How I Met Your Mother

That’s Neil Patrick Harris. I think this might have been the playwright who wrote The Odd Couple.

That’s Neil Simon. I think this is the musician who wrote Sweet Caroline.

That’s Neil Diamond. I think this is an astrophysicist

That’s Neil deGrasse Tyson. I think this is a river in Egypt.

That’s the Nile; I think this is the Irish guy who made the movies “The Crying Game” and “Interview with the Vampire”.

No no no, that’s Neil Jordan. I think this is the English author who helped write Good Omens.

You’re right! This is Terry Prachet’s tumblr. Good job everyone

idea: scene with two characters eagerly stripping each other clearly about to bone, but they keep getting interrupted by finding carefully concealed weapons in each other’s clothing, so they keep just unholstering, revealing and unstrapping increasingly ludicrous amounts of hidden guns and knives as the clothes come off, and it’s lowkey killing the mood a little

Alternatively: it’s not killing the mood at all but it’s totally making both of them giggle like they’re twelve and possibly get lowkey competitive in a subconscious way about who has the most to drop.

The more that I think of it the more I’m seeing the incredible intimacy of letting someone know where you keep your backup knife.

Like my god, the trust involved in letting someone undress you and learn your secrets instead of popping into the bathroom to change where they can’t see and hiding all your weapons under the sink

…Oh

second alternative: you go to hide all your weapons under the sink but there’s already a bunch of weapons hidden underneath the sink.

awkward

It’s not that there’s already a bunch of weapons hidden underneath the sink that makes it awkward so much as that there’s so many weapons hidden underneath the sink that they fall out of the cabinet with the unmistakable sound of a knife-alanche, and then the other person comes in like “I can explain!” and you’re just dead-ass standing there with your own armload of weapons like “I can also explain.”

wasn’t sure this was true, checked the app store guidelines and found this:

1.1.4 Overtly sexual or pornographic material, defined by Webster’s Dictionary as “explicit descriptions or displays of sexual organs or activities intended to stimulate erotic rather than aesthetic or emotional feelings.” This includes “hookup” apps that may include pornography or be used to facilitate prostitution.

unclear if/how this will be enforced, but it’s very worrying either way

A friend of mine confirmed that Apple finally went through with disabling access to discord’s nsfw channels:

image

I think it’s worth the concern.

Discord has added a workaround: log in on desktop discord, then go to Settings - Privacy & Safety and check the new option “Allow access to NSFW servers on IOS”

can people please start noticing this stuff hits sex workers, then trans and gay people, THEN whatever thing the hets like that they object to

(disclaimer: yes, i am okay with the hets being weird too)

I need everyone to know and realize this isn’t an “Apple” problem.

What happend to Tumblr? What happened to IG. What is happening to Twitter. Is all a byproduct of the US government not listening to sex workers and pushing threw FOSTA-SESTA.

Also contributing to it is: —> https://exoduscry.com/

A christian, anti LGBTQ organization that is lobying to pan porn and all sex workers.

I remember everyone laughing about Tumblr, using them banning porn as a but of a ton of jokes, and people completely ignored why they banned porn.

Spoiler, they where hit with the possibility of being sued for ever single post that advertised or sold porn content. That means people promoting OnlyFans. Their websites. Their clip stores etc.

Can I just rant right quick?

Facebook’s community standards are wack.

They are biased against minority groups like BIPOC, LGBTQ+, and even women.

Prime example: my account is restricted for 3 days because, in a discussion about Facebook’s community standards, I used an example of how a WASP cisgender male threatened me with horrible violence in a comment, to which I reported the comment (as one does when threatened with a very descriptive brutal r*pe and m*rder, which was my situation), only to have that disgusting comment remain because it “did not violate standards”.

A few days pass, and now my account is restricted because of the EXAMPLE I used, which was nowhere near as horrific as what was originally directed towards me.

Apparently, my comment was flagged for “hate speech”.

How bizarre.

homophobes are not allowed to use computers because the inventor of the computer was gay

People think this is just a joke but Alan Turing was the inventor of the computer and his sexuality was illegal in his time (which was not even 100 years ago) and he was arrested. They put him on drugs that destroyed his genius brain and committed suicide a year after being covicted. He was gay and a war hero as well. He helped to break enigma which was a German code that they put all their messages through. He shorted WWII by two years and saved so many lives in the process.

Friendly reminder that if not for Alan Turing you wouldn’t be reading this post and we might be ruled by the nazis
